The category tagging plugin was OK, but I wanted to start using the widgets released in Wordpress 2.2. After trying the “simple tagging plugin“, I finally opted to go with Ultimate Tag Warrior. It has built-in functions for creating a tag cloud and you can get the companion UTW widget to show the tag cloud in your sidebar.

Other cool features of UTW are:

• drop-down selection list for adding tags to posts
• display tags on each post in tons of different formats
• built in icon support for Technorati and others
• option to display related posts
