Furry friends for everyone

Did you get it? The Sims 2 Pets Expansion pack was released Tuesday, October 17. Ive been anxiously awaiting this pack as I think it will be the best yet. Rather than waste gas driving to the store, I hopped on the EA Downloader and grabbed my copy via digital download.

The Sims are finally settled in on the desktop

The desktop may be the final place for my Sims after all. I played part of the weekend on the laptop and it wasn’t as clear as the flat screen monitor. I guess I’m spoiled now. The laptop also gets very hot, which makes it uncomfortable after awhile. Even with the chillpad and a towel, I can only stand an hour or two at a time.

Reconnecting with the (new) neighborhood

Now that the network is playing nice and the machines are all speaking, I thought it time to finish installing my toys on the XPS. I haven’t played the Sims 2 in several months. I was really surprised it had been that long, but when I checked my backup file, the last time I played was in June.

Sims 2 OFB: How to install an elevator

One of the first new building items I tried after installing Open for Business
was the elevator. I built my new shop, selected a location and placed an elevator
on the ground floor. I then switched my view to level 2 and proceeded to place
my 2nd elevator. It wouldnt work. I tried the elevator shaft. That, too,
did not work. After 30 minutes, I finally gave up and used stairs. Having a
recent college graduate, I had a need to build another shop and decided to conquer
this elevator thing. Here is what I discovered.

Open for Business gets its first patch

It was only a matter of time. With the number of things I’ve run into with the limited amount of time I’ve had to play, I can only imagine the trouble die-hard gamers have encountered. Judging from the list of items covered on the Open for Business patch, it appears to be quite a few.

The biggest fix which I’m glad to see included is: The game will no longer load indefinitely on lots that contained ReNuYuSenso Orbs prior to installing Open For Business. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I have these aspiration changing orbs on a good many of my lots. Using the boolprop makes me nervous, but that’s been the only way I could play up until now. Of course, I’m taking their word it’s fixed - I haven’t played the game since installing the patch.
