It’s been long overdue, but I finally was able to update WP-Testimonials to version 2.0. This latest version requires WordPress 2.8 or higher due to the new widget control functions. During the updates, I made several improvements and added several configuration options based on requests and feedback from users of the previous version.
WP-Testimonials 2.0 can be upgraded directly within your dashboard or you may download the new version from this site. You may also choose to install the plugin through your dashboard by choosing “add new” under the plugins header and searching for “testimonials”.
For support, please visit the WP-Testimonials Support Page.
Here are the changes made to this release:
- Compatibility with WP2.5 through WP2.8.3
- Random block now pulls testimonial via “ORDER BY RAND” for true random order
- Removed obsolete field in table “views”
- Pages/posts can now be created using shortcode (eliminates the need for a custom theme page)
- Added “read more” link to random sidebar block
- Added configuration options to show/hide “read more” link in sidebar with customizable text
- Added options to delete table upon deactivation

Hi Jodi,
I am having a similar issue that others have had…once I add my testimonials they are not showing up in the sidebar. Have read though all the instructions. Is there something I’m missing? How do I manage the testimonials (delete, edit).
Also, I want to set this up so that a different testimonial shows up on each page. Is there anything specific I need to do to set that up?
Thanks!
Debbie
I just installed the WP-Testimonials on my website. Works great. I have one question though. I would like to have a Page title (that I put in myself) AND a little blurb before the testimonials. Right now, the testimonials come BEFORE the little blurb. Is there any way to fix this?
Here’s the page in question. http://kidspartydjs.com/our-clients-say
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can give.

Actually, the plugin was automatically disabled by WP with another error message:
Fatal error: Class ‘WP_Widget’ not found in /home/invivoan/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-testimonials/wp-testimonials.php on line 341
Hi Teresa,
Version 2.0 that was released yesterday was only compatible with WordPress 2.8 or higher. I’ve released version 2.1 today which has backwards compatibility for WP2.7 and higher. Unfortunately, WP-Testimonials will no longer work on sites running a version of WordPress older than 2.7.
Jodi
Thanks for much for your hard work.
Hi Jodi:
I upgraded automatically to the new version and it’s somehow broken my entire website. This is the error message on the sidebar
Fatal error: Call to undefined function sfstst_onerandom() in /home/invivoan/public_html/wp-content/themes/blue-zinfandel/sidebar.php on line 42
I’ve had to disable it for now.
