Missed Hairspray because of a careless driver
We had plans to meet friends and watch Hairspray yesterday. Unfortunately, we never made it to the theater (sorry, guys!
). On the way, a careless driver behind me wasn’t paying attention and nailed my back bumper. No one was hurt, thank goodness. Apparently the other driver thought our red light turned green when the turn lane next to us did. *sigh*
The kids were disappointed we missed the movie, but were calm throughout the incident. They were ok and chatted with the officer for a few minutes when he arrived. I told them we’d try to get to the movie this weekend. Everyone we know that’s seen it has given it great reviews. I never saw the original, so it will all be new to me.
I was very proud of how they behaved while we waited. I didn’t want them angry or scared or upset. So, I made sure I kept on my best matter-of-fact face. Outside, I was relaxed and professional. Inside, I was fuming!
Screaming at the woman that she should’ve been paying attention would not have accomplished anything, though. After I got home, I vented to a few friends and family. That made me feel a little better. Now, I just have to wait the week or two for my car to be repaired and I can put this whole mess behind me.
