Favorite new plugins for WordPress

I am always looking for new and exciting tools for my website. WordPress developers offer me a virtual candy store daily. Here are a few of the most recent plugins I’ve installed.

WP-UserOnline: Gives you a list of all visitors on your site at a glance. Tells you how many users, guests and bots are roaming around your website, where they came from and where they are now. Has an optional companion widget to display the data in your sidebar.

Live: Let’s you watch traffic on your website as it happens. It includes a graph to visually reflect your traffic and has a list of all visitors with icons showing the item viewed.

Live tweak: An update to the above that will exclude your own IP from the reports.

WP Shopping Cart: Simply put — A shopping cart for WordPress. I am debating on moving my script installation and hosting accounts to this one to keep it all under one roof (I’m using ZenCart right now). The only draw back is making the move to the WP cart exclusively would require me to create a static page for my free downloads since they can’t run through this cart. If you have a free product, it still takes you to the PayPal page and PayPal won’t do a $0.00 transaction.

Embedded Video with Link: This plugin lets you upload a video and embed it locally. It also supports remotely hosted videos from services like YouTube, Google Video, Myspace Video, Yahoo Video and a slew of others.

404 Notifier: If you’re like me and move things around often, this is a must-have. This plugin generates a report of any 404 messages sent out by your site. You can opt to receive the results by email (which can get overwhelming very quickly) or by RSS feed.
