Startup Virtual Assistants can now join RP

RemoteProfessionals.comMy colleague, Angela Parker, and I started RemoteProfessionals.com two years ago this month. In the beginning our idea was to provide a professional network for service providers who had been in business for awhile and had begun specializing in a particular area. Over the last two years, we have discussed our place in the virtual scheme of things and how we can best serve the virtual assistant industry. As a result, we have redesigned the RP structure and added new membership categories. We have also launched a Virtual Assistance Blog (RSS) to provide information about the virtual assistant industry, tips on working virtually and advice for clients looking to outsource.

The new Startup Member category is designed for individuals who recently established a Virtual Assistant business or those who are interested in learning more about working as a freelancer. Startup members have access to event archives, will receive the monthly RP Tidbits newsletter, may participate in the email listserv, may use the RP Member logo and enjoy reduced rates for RP events.

Full members have the same benefits as Startup Members as well as inclusion in the member directory, inclusion on the member map, access to RFQ system and free attendance at any RP event. Full Members also have the opportunity to apply for RP Master designation, showing they are at the top of their field.

As part of RP’s two year celebration, we have also scheduled two FREE events. The first is an open question and answer session with an RP member panel. This is an ideal opportunity for startup virtual assistants to ask questions of those who have established successful freelance businesses. Panelists include specialists in website design, bookkeeping and blogging. The “Ask the Specialists” member panel will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2007 from 12:00pm - 1:00pm ET.

The second event is scheduled for Thursday, August 16, 2007 from 12:00pm - 1:00pm ET. This teleseminar will feature realtor Miguel Berger of TechValley Homes. Miguel will be discussing “The Good, The Bad and the Ugly of Outsourcing Real Estate Projects“. This is a can’t miss for anyone interested in working with the real estate industry.

If you are a virtual assistant looking for a “home” on the Internet, I urge you to stop by RemoteProfessionals.com and see what we have to offer.
