Day 35 with the eggs

Well, we’re about halfway with the eggs. Over the weekend, I checked the boxes to be sure the humidity was good. The vermiculite was still moist, but a few of the eggs had started to dent. Reading up on the Internet suggested it might be from low humidity. So, I added more water to the plastic basin, increased the amount of water in the bowl I keep inside and gave a light misting to the boxes.

There were a few eggs that looked darker than the others. I’m not sure if it’s because they were a bit deeper in the medium or if it’s because they are not going to hatch. With moving the eggs twice, and them being kicked around by Neo before I got them out in the first place, I won’t be surprised to have several that don’t make it.

Just to get some piece of mind, I candled the eggs to see what I could see. In some eggs, it was clear where the baby beardie was growing. In others, I couldn’t see much. Although those eggs weren’t entirely clear either. None had mold or had a smell indicating they had definitely gone bad. So, I left all 23 in the boxes and will keep my fingers crossed for the best results.
