My Dell Axim is finally doing DST
Man what a mess that was! My handheld, a Dell Axim x51, has not been showing the right time since the early Daylight Savings Time went into effect. I read the support pages at Microsoft and installed the patches they recommended. All to no avail. So, everything on my PDA was an hour earlier than my computer. I tried to live with it, but when I scheduled something on the PDA while out (like at a doctor appointment) it showed an hour later on the computer. This became a nightmare when trying to figure out where I was supposed to be and when.
Today, I finally solved the problem.
The daylight savings time support page at Microsoft said to download a specific patch if you synced your device using USB. I tried that initially, but nothing happened. Today, I followed the instructions for stand-alone handhelds. THAT did the trick.
From my Windows Mobile device, I logged in to the Internet. I then navigated to http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile. I followed the instructions onscreen and downloaded the DST patch directly on the Axim. I opted to install it immediately after downloading. The thing did stall during the restart so I had to use the soft reset, but the time was correct!
I did another sync with the computer and my appointments seem to be showing correctly now. I hope this patch covers the shift of the fall time change, too. *groan*

Thanks- this worked! After talking with Dell for an hour- they couldn’t figure it out. They just kept telling me to go to Microsoft.
