The Sims are finally settled in on the desktop
The desktop may be the final place for my Sims after all. I played part of the weekend on the laptop and it wasn’t as clear as the flat screen monitor. I guess I’m spoiled now. The laptop also gets very hot, which makes it uncomfortable after awhile. Even with the chillpad and a towel, I can only stand an hour or two at a time. I went through and put everything back on the desktop and think this is the way I’ll leave it. Since I hadn’t played the new neighborhood but for a day, I just started over with all new stuff on the desktop.
Building houses is not my strong point. So, I went to the exchange and downloaded several lots I liked to put in my inventory. I’ve decided my new town will be “Posh Springs” and everyone will live comfortably. Of course, this will require the assistance of Uncle Motherload or Aunt FamilyFunds. There will also be one road of smaller houses for the Sims who desires a more moderate dwelling.
The only problem I have now is I cannot browse the exchange from the in-game content browser. I went through and re-registered all of the games and double-checked online that the registrations were there. For some reason, it still says “please register your game” when I load the content browser.
That’s just a minor inconvenience. I don’t download often, and when I do, I grab a lot of stuff in one sitting. Then, I spend the next few hours going through and loading each lot to see if I like it enough to keep it. Sometimes I’ll modify colors or delete superfluous items (like 2 cars in the double garage). After that’s done, I rename the lot with the specs (beds, baths, etc) so I know at a glance which size family would fit best.
Now, to make some new Sim friends and settle them into Posh Springs.
