Upgrade to GL 1.4.0 complete

The much anticipated release of Geeklog 1.4.0 is finally here. I’ve been running the release candidates and have been pleased with the new features and encountered very few bugs. Now, after much testing, the Geeklog folks have released the final (stable) version of 1.4.0.

I’ve upgraded both this blog and my business site - SunFrogServices.com without trouble. Thanks to the development team for including a quick reference of the updates files from rc2. I am still working on the layout (have a new logo for the business which I am trying to incorporate here). For now, I have kept similar colors between the two sites.

This new GL version also offers a handy WYSIWYG editor, which I’m testing here. As I recommend Geeklog for content management to potential (and current) clients, I want to be sure it all works as promised. So far, so good. If you are running an older version of Geeklog — or if you are in the market for a new content management system, check out the Geeklog demo. You can post articles and check out this new FCKeditor.

If you are running a version of Geeklog, consider giving a donation to the Geeklog development team. These folks spend lots of time to make this great open source script. You can also donate to fund the development of the next package - Geeklog 2. Judging from what I am reading on the listserv, it will be da’ bomb in content management systems.
